The story
In the 1970s, Enicar, a Swiss watch brand known for its precision and craftsmanship, produced a range of elegant dress watches that reflected the era's style and innovation. Characterized by their slim profiles and classic designs, these watches often featured gold or stainless steel cases, minimalist dials, and high-quality automatic movements.
Enicar's logo of a planet lent itself towards a design that incorporated that logo. The planet represents something distant and far reaching, as well as the idea of pursuing great goals at great risks. This watch is from around the 1970s, shortly after the moon landings, and when space fever was perhaps at it's highest.
The design is based on a vintage rocket ship, specifically using black outlines to give it a retro comic book style. The style is intentionally childlike, colorful and playful to give it some energy to match the colors and energy of the rocket's blast-off.
