Resurfaced explores that relationship through hand-painted art. Working directly onto vintage watches, each piece combines the history already carried by the object with a new story, memory, or idea. Some celebrate a place, others commemorate a person, a journey, or a moment in time.
Rather than restoring watches back to what they once were, Resurfaced gives them a new chapter. The marks of age, use, and history are often retained, becoming part of the artwork itself.

Meet the artist
MB Anderson is a British artist living in Shanghai. Through Resurfaced, he uses watches as a canvas to explore the stories that objects accumulate over time.
Painting by hand under a microscope, he creates one-of-a-kind artworks inspired by memory, culture, history and place. His work combines a lifelong fascination with art and storytelling with the quiet idea that the objects we live alongside often become part of our own journey through time.
